Reduce Your Image Size

With AppsAnywhere and Cloudpaging, the long-term model we see being adopted is that a basic desktop image can be used; applications are then accessed on-demand by users.

The basic premise is that we separate the application layer and the OS layer. That creates a much smaller distribution image, just containing your basic operating system along with small key services that will be used throughout your estate (such as anti-virus, .Net etc.).

All subsequent services and apps can be delivered via Cloudpaging, regardless of whether they're virtualized or not. That gives you the ability to pick and choose what services, apps and dependencies are delivered to an individual machine.

Allowing the institution to rapidly deliver desktop apps, upgrades and patches, as they need it, when they need it and where they need it, not only reduces the overall time and cost of supporting the desktop environment, but gives you the ability to reduce the complexity of dealing with compatibility issues on end-user's machines.
