AppsAnywhere is compatible with multiple application delivery and deployment methods, giving you the best way of delivering software to students on a per app basis.
We recognize that each method of delivering apps has its own strengths and weaknesses. That's why we've built AppsAnywhere to integrate with a variety of different delivery methods, so you can choose the best tool for the job. You might want to virtualize some of your heavyweight Windows apps. You might want to point to locally installed software that you include in your image (e.g. Office 365 apps). You might want to just direct to a freely available app for self-installation. There might be a time you want to present apps through VDI or RDS solutions.
Whichever way you choose to do it, AppsAnywhere gives your students one consistent place to access all the software they need for their studies, wherever they are.

AppsAnywhere brings together different technologies from all the leading vendors, to enable university IT to deliver any app to any device, and satisfy every possible use case.
The beauty of unifying delivery methods in this way is that students only need to go to one place for all their software (AppsAnywhere), with just one 'launch' button regardless of the technology that's running in the background.
We're adding to the integrations all the time. Key technology AppsAnywhere currently supports includes Numecent Cloudpaging, Parallels RAS, Microsoft SCCM/App-V/RemoteApp and Vmware Horizon.
Microsoft's RemoteApp technology allows you to access and use an app that's running on another computer. Using RemoteApp alongside AppsAnywhere, you can access apps that are either installed or virtualized on a specific server in your university or in the cloud, as if the app were locally installed. This technology is particularly great for delivering Windows apps to non-Windows devices.
Cloudpaging is a next-generation application virtualization tool. Unlike legacy technologies like App-V and ThinApp, Cloudpaging allows you to package and virtualize 100% of Windows apps, which can then be distributed through AppsAnywhere. Cloudpaging is a great delivery method for giving on-demand access to an entire software library, all run with 100% performance and 0% installation. Find out more >
From AppsAnywhere, students can launch software that you may wish to keep in your base build image; software that's installed on the machine they're using. For many of our customers, this includes the Microsoft Office 365 apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Supporting locally-installed apps streamlines the students' experience, by making AppsAnywhere the only place they need to go to get ALL the software they need.
Not all digital downloads can be provided as a public link. The Secure Download delivery method allows you to provide access to protected resources through AppsAnywhere, so they're only accessible to the users you specify. This is great for providing access to installers that are only meant for use by certain students or staff. It can even be used for things like course materials or help sheets!
Not every app needs a fully-featured delivery method such as Cloudpaging or RemoteApp; sometimes you just want to make it quicker and easier for the user to get their hands on an app they can install themselves, by providing them direct access to the installer download. This is a great solution for user-owned and un-managed machines, and it helps you ensure everyone gets the genuine, certified, malware-free installer.
PKG & DMG deployment
The latest version of AppsAnywhere supports the deployment of native Mac apps (DMG or PKG files) to MacOS. This means you can deliver apps like GarageBand directly to a Mac using AppsAnywhere, and take away all the hassle of downloading the package and installing it. Students just click 'Launch' and it's all taken care of.
External web links
Sometimes the simplest ways of doing things are the best. Using AppsAnywhere’s external web links delivery method, you can link users to any external link you want. This is often used as a back-up delivery method, in case the user doesn’t qualify for a more managed approach; you can just send them to the software vendor’s website and they can source the app for themselves. It’s also really handy for directing people to web-based apps and app stores on mobile devices, such as Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store.
Downloading an installer, running it, and following all the instructions and prompts is a really irritating way of getting access to an app. Using AppsAnywhere, students just hit the 'Launch' button and the installer will be downloaded for them and locally executed. All the user has to do is sit back and wait for it to be ready. The installer can even be run with elevated privileges, whether the user has them or not. One click and they're ready to go.
SCCM & App-V
Many of our customers choose to deploy some of their apps through SCCM. But you don’t want to have to tell your students they need to go to a different place for those apps, you want them to be able to launch everything from AppsAnywhere. That’s why we extended AppsAnywhere so it could trigger the launch of apps available through Config Manager’s Software Centre, right from within AppsAnywhere. The user just clicks 'Launch' and away it goes.
AppsAnywhere gives IT the ability to deploy remote apps running in a VMware Horizon environment through AppsAnywhere. And thanks to VMware's powerful VDI and desktop virtualizations technology, students can also deploy Windows desktops from directly within AppsAnywhere!
Integrate with Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) to allow students to use apps on any device. Parallels next-generation RDS-like technology enables university IT to deploys 100% of Windows apps remotely to macOS, iOS, Android, Linux and Chromebooks. It also supports the delivery of virtual desktops, at a fraction of the cost of traditional VDI.
