AppsAnywhere is proud to have taken part in the BCNET Connect 2022 conference. We showcased how we're improving student outcomes by helping universities deliver a better IT service.

Recognized for their practical, applied education with instructors who have direct, hands-on experience in their field, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) have become leaders in innovation. Ed Grof, TITLE at BCIT, Rick Ballarin, Project Leader in the Information Technology Department at KPU, and Tony Austwick, co-founder of AppsAnywhere discussed how AppsAnywhere has improved student experiences, enhanced IT departments, and made their CIO’s happy.  Instead of a traditional presented case study, this was a live discussion between BCIT, KPU, and AppsAnywhere covering why they were looking for a solution, the challenges they faced around application delivery, and the benefits they have received from the implementation of AppsAnywhere; including the driving force behind it, the experience both the IT team/staff/faculty and the students have had since implementing AppsAnywhere and their experiences using it moving forward.

This included the good, the bad, and the ugly, they were honest and expressed the trials and tribulations they have faced.

Our guests showcased their customer journeys' with AppsAnywhere while covering topics around enrollment, tech innovations on campus, and how they saved IT money long-term.

About the Speakers

British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)

BCIT was searching for a better way to deliver software to their students. The everyday challenges of managing applications presented difficulties with software deployment, ultimately creating challenges for their students. The pandemic expedited their need to find a solution that would allow students to access their software remotely while also providing a seamless learning experience. This resulted in their implementation of AppsAnywhere.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU)

Prior to the pandemic KPU, began investing in solutions to deliver software remotely to students. Conversations with the AppsAnywhere team were part of their initial discovery for a better solution. In response to the pandemic, they knew they had to transition to distance learning to keep continuity in their teaching and learning. Because of their switch to AppsAnywhere, KPU is able to provide students with the software applications they need while also becoming a long-term part of their IT.
