Software2 packaging experts, Phil and Umais, host a workshop on the hardware and software requirements of a Packaging Environment and the impact of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.
They will demonstrate setting up VirtualBox and a Microsoft development Virtual Machine then configuring it for packaging using the Software2 Packaging Tool, as well as an overview of the Packaging process when faced with an unknown application.
This session will cover the following topics:

- VM environments and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables
- Creating a VirtualBox VM using a Microsoft development VM

About the speakers
Phil Davis has a long and comprehensive background in both IT and Higher Education, having worked at the University of Wolverhampton before coming to Software2. Phil's packaging skills are very impressive and he's put them to use helping universities package, delivering packaging training and developing new processes and services to make packaging a more efficient, less complex task.
